What is a fair cost to install the ECGS bushing on a Tacoma. It also appears most people here recommend changing the entire axel as well. Is that correct?

I did mine my self in a couple of hours. Just inspect the axle shaft that inserts into the diff for scoring. I didn't replace my axle with 150,000 miles on it. No more noise or vibe from the front anymore. I would think a good price for labor on a job like this maybe 100-150 bucks.

I just did a 2 inch level and am having the mid speed rumble. Can I still drive my truck while I order the ecgs bushing set or am I doing damage do my axle when I drive it ?

You can drive with that rumble for years. I ordered my ECGS bushing a couple of years ago and still haven't gotten around to installing it. Now that I bought a house with a full detached shop, I think I'll start making some time...

How difficult is the installation? For a DYI?

I did the lift myself but I'm concerned that this mission might be a bit more. I guess I'm intimidated by removing the axel assembly.

What is the is problem I keep hearing about? I just installed 5100's in October at 1.75 on my 2015 DCLB 4X4. And I have no sounds or any other issues. Nor did I on my 2010 when I did a full 3 inch lift.

    Yes
It does not sound like you had either truck long enough for the problem to show up. The needle bearing on the drivers side front diff wears out and causes a lot of extra play in the axle. Then as it starts to wear the axle is not spinning cleanly on the surface of the bearing which causes it to wobble make noise and vibe.

Hmmmmmmm another fuck you from Toyota I guess. Is this the same issues that someone just posted a thread about saying Toyota has fixed the problem on the 2016's? Admitting there was a problem, but not admitting it when you would bring it in for the problem.

I think people should take the newly released admission that came out and start a class action suit of some sort.

I think the 2016 comment is referring to driveline vibes ie driveshaft / centre bearing / leaf springs and not the needle bearing issue that effects only 4x4 trucks and most of those are lifted

So is this just on one side or both? Where do I get the part, and special tool? I have a guy that charges me a 30.00 shop rate, just figured I would get it done? Or is it just better to buy a whole new axle?

    Yes
East Coast Gear Supply makes the bushing and the removal tool. The only other thing you need is a seal removal tool which you can get anywhere even Harbor Freight. No need for a new axle unless you had a catastrophic bearing failure and it scared the crap out of the axle.

Maybe some part numbers? There are a few Toyota option on there?
