Hey, so on my '08 Tacoma Sport, the side view mirrors have become really loose in the knuckle that allows them to swing in and out.
So, even with very normal driving, they wiggle around a lot and I cant see shit when this is happening. I checked for screws to see if they'll tighten, but the one screw on the bottom of the mirror has nothing to do with snugging up the loose joint.
This happened from driving on washboard roads in the past....has anyone else found a cure for this?

I called the dealer with no help other than to buy entire new mirrors at about $250 each or something like that.

    Thanks!

There's 3 screws in the bottom.
You need to remove the cover to expose the other 2
    Check those first!

Cool! Sounds like that may work! didn't know there were hidden screws on these things.

So I remove the 1 screw to remove a "cover"?

No there's a small cover you remove with a small flat head right by that one exposed screw you see

It's on the stock "L" bracket that holds the mirror to the door

I had a POS Ford Ranger years ago, after owning it for a few years if I went over 50 the side mirrors would fold in.
I replaced both of them, problem solved.

Lol it happens. I had that same problem when I upgraded my mirrors to the newer 4Runner ones. I forgot to tighten the screws down a bit more :p
