How's everyone doing. I am new to this forum.
Last week my ruck threw a code for a knock sensor and upon check ig with the dealer I was told that the wire was chewed up by mice.
Yeah! the mice got in there. dealer quoted me 1K with parts. So long story short, I opened it up and am kinda stuck because I am having a hard time removing the coolant pipes just above the sensors.
Took of air intake, intake manifold and now I need help. has anyone attempted this and can assist me in getting the two coolant pipes out.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

You came to the right place and section. Never done this repair but I'm sure someone will come along to help.

Yes, because we know all about 2016 knock sensors in the Gen 3 forum.

Um, what's a knock sensor? Last engine I worked on was an Olds 403 Rocket.

Assuming you've already drained the coolant, you will have to remove the thermostat housing / water manifold from the front of those pipes, and the connections on the rear of the pipes as well before you can remove the three bolts holding the coolant pipes to the top of the motor.

I'm having the same issue. Dealer said the knock sensor wiring had been chewed thru - $1200 repair. I had a pack rat living in top of the intake shroud, but am unable to find evidence of wiring damage after removing everything but the intake manifold.

A local mechanic did the same and can't find any visible damage. You can get a pretty good view under the int. man. and I'm wondering if the problem is the sensor, the computer (or software.) Any feedback from the forum would be appreciated.
