    Hey all,
Newbie here and recent owner of a new beautiful '09 Prerunner TRD Off Road SR5 Taco (love her). I've seen several posts on here concerning vibrations on the front end but none that fit all of the criteria that I'm currently experiencing.

I bought this thing used aware of some needed brake pad and rotor replacement for the front end. I managed to talk the dealership into providing replacements which I installed but I am still experiencing heavy vibration while stopping at highway speeds and small fine vibrations when coming to a complete stop within 4 feet of actually stopping.

All of the vibration is felt in the steering column with a tad felt in the pedal. Done what research I can and this may point to bearing issues but haven't heard the telltale grinding noise.

Anybody know of a thread already handling or can you provide some feedback?

    Subd...

I'm experiencing the same issue. Steering wheel vibrates side to side during braking only. I got a new set of rotors and pads that i will install this weekend.

Are the tires and alignment good?

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I dunno, installed a pair of Bamatoys wheel bearings and the truck is quiet as a mouse. It's almost eerie. Give Bamatoy a ding.

Tires are good. Though I've never had the alignment tested, it doesn't drift at all or pull while breaking. I've ruled these out because it rides perfect unless I'm braking. Am I mistaken?

When both of you installed rotors have you check backlash ?

Are all bolts torqued to spec?

Are your wheel bearings in good shape ?

Bad wheel bearing could do something like that, Its unlikely but worth checking.
Also sometimes when people put new rotors they dont go exactly as they should (rust, stuck on something) that would make continues vibe.

Lastly msot common mistake wheel nuts are not tighten correctly
    .
Grab torque wrench and check you wheel nuts if they wrong you will warp new rotors in no time.

All of the above are being tested Friday. This was a home job and I'm limited on tools. Hypothetically speaking, if lugs are good and cleared on backlash test, what might I be looking at?

If wheels balance and torqued to spec, it's hub bearings. With front end off the ground, grab tire at 9 and 3 o clock, if it has play, you need new bearings. Bama units look real good for price.

Check for uneven tire wear, bubbles on the sidewall, and just the overall condition of the tires. My brother had a similar issue on his 2013 Tacoma. New pads and rotors didn't solve anything, but after he added a new set of tires the vibrations went away.
