Hey guys so I just purchased a 15' tacoma Trd off road 4x4 and noticed a clunk in the rear, and I took to dealer and they said r/r shock went bad. So I picked it up and noise is gone with replacement of the r/r shock!!!!

Now today I was driving down the road and used my brakes hard and can feal the seat rocking back and forth very minor on the back rest part? Any ideas

Weird that a shock can go bad that quickly, but I guess anything is possible. My truck is 13 years old and still on the original shocks.

Hopefully these small issues don't sour your first opinion of your truck. Tacomas are awesome and in general very reliable. I hope you get it resolved, and enjoy the truck!

my seat back moves a little too. I think its the tolerance in the gears used to adjust the angle of the seat back, and it relies on pressure (your body weight leaning against it) to keep it still. Not enough for me to visit the dealer though. I dont really see anything that they can do about it, other than a half ass fix. But hey, I can be wrong.

Used to notice that on my 2011. Turns out the Tacoma seats don't lock in well sometimes. Try making sure that you lock it into position with a purpose.

That may not be your issue, just a suggestion.

Agree, if it is in fact broken and needs to be fixed. However, the flip side is that if it is something insignificant and can not be fixed because it is not really broken, then you can get so worked up about it that it can ruin the way you feel about the vehicle, instead of just accepting it the way it is and enjoying the truck.
Fine line to decide when to pursue it and when to let it go.

I used to work with a guy who complained all the time about a rattle in his 1st gen dash. kept taking it in to the dealer. Then the complaint transformed from "this one rattle in my dash" to "I keep having to go back to the dealer and now there are new rattles". He was so wound up I thought dude was gonna blow a gasket. Didnt wanna fuel the fire but DUH!

Done that before. It comes as a surprise when you think your seat is locked into position, then you come to an abrupt stop at a light and "CRACK!" you realize it was just a little off.

Satoshi, debadged, rear view mirror bracket, tail gate hose clamps, trimmed mud flaps.
My seat back has a little play as well. Think it is normal.

i get that too... the (unoccupied) passenger seat back rattles a bit when I go over bumps - pretty annoying. it's worst when the seat is all the way back, a little better when its a couple of notches forward.

Sold a Colorado!!!! Piece of crap! Straight up!!!! Nothing but issues and lost good $$$ on the truck ! No thanks

It's very very minor just noticeable, and I decided it is not bad enough for a second trip so I will wait till my first free service @ 5000 miles and let them handle with oil change etc.

I found with my seat all the way back I had to push down on the seat adjuster while I wiggled my butt. Felt it locked into place a little more. No more issues after that.
