2L not engaging

    I recently acquired a 2009 tacoma Trd prerunner with a 2L gear that fails to engage. Turns out it's just first gear. I'm a dumbass

    You don't have 2 low. I'm afraid the answer is, you're a dumbass :) I'm assuming you're looking at the shifter in the auto? If so, that just limits how high the transmission can shift but it's the same gear ratio you normally have. In L, you'll remain in 1st gear, in 2, it'll only shift as high as 2nd and so on.
