Ranch tonneau that was on the truck when I bought it. Seems sturdy. Absolutely not dust tight. I've noticed a little water in the bed a couple of times but that could be drainage when it's opened. Haven't yet been interested enough in finding out if it can be made to keep dust and water out. I couldn't say I couldn't recommend anyone purchasing one at this stage, have only owned it a few months. More detailed pictures in my album.

I have an Undercover and I like it very much. It does limit convenience if you need to carry something large. The upside is, it's very easy to remove and install ... I can do it alone, but easier with help.
I don't worry about scratches as it is ABS plastic; maintenance is a snap.

Picked up a 2012 with a Lock and Roll unit on the bed. It was my second Tonneau Cover on a pick-up. I was impressed with the versatility to the unit and then I watched a u-tube video of an actor trying to break in to it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sRVgS_5LXs Next was a fireman who pointed out the unit is made like the doors where they keep the rescue equipment in his fire truck.
I ran it for a few months, but my needs are meet better by a shell. What I really liked was the ability to haul verticle loads without the cover getting in the way. The lock-n-roll locks open in three different positions. Hauled a small 4 wheeler that required the use of the side rail tie downs and needed to be moved all the way to the front.

Well, the shell is on and the roll-n-lock is posted over in Texas Classified Sticky on page 333. Save your self some cash if the roll-n-lock is your choice for a long bed.

Got the Fold-A-Cover G4. I washed the truck after installing it and the bed was dry. Like that it opens on both ends and both ends have locks. Secures the tailgate as well.

I just added a Fold-A-Cover G4 Elite too. Seems pretty solid and secure. The dual opening makes it really handy. I put two large bins under the front opening section secured with a tension bar. The feature that also sold me on it was that when you open the back 3/4ths, they lay flat on the 4th section. Most of the tri-folds I saw mad e a big triangle that blocked the rear window.

Yeah, we stopped at MacDuff's before we headed out to Grover's. I need to work on some pics with more scenic backgrounds.

Soft tonneau guys -- any of you have a soft tonneau that keeps your things dry reliably? Even if you have to reinforce it a bit.

I want a tonneau, but am uneasy to spend $1k on a hard tonneau that may/may not keep things dry.

Reason for tonneau is to haul family's things on roadtrips, so it would need to be reliably dry (suitcases, etc.).

    Any help is appreciated!

I run the Lund Genesis Tri-Fold soft Tonneau and I haven't had any issues. Sometimes some water will get in where I haven't gone through and fully weather sealed it, but it has been very minimal.

I've posted it like 12 times already but here's mine. Just installed this last week. Smittybilt SmartCover, paid $269 for it at a shop but I needed it right away, couldn't wait for shipping. Drove 1300 miles right after through rain/snow and it kept all our stuff dry in the bed. Not too fond of the way it installs, but I managed to make it work about 90% perfect. Good enough for me.

I used to have a Chevy Colorado. On that truck I had a Extang Trifecta, soft folding cover. I never did anything to add waterproofness to the cover, and never even added the foam they said to put around the tailgate to seal it. Only time there was any water in the bed was when I got carried away washing with a pressure washer and shot it just right where it sat on the bed rails. It worked perfect for 3 yrs till a large tree dell on the truck bed tearing a hole in the cover. I fixed it with black gorilla tape and drove it like that for a yr before selling the truck.

My dad has a 11' DCLB Taco that he installed a "Tonue Pro" soft folding cover on. It was cheaper than the Extang, but not nearly as nice. I don't notice any leaking, but after about a year of use, it is not nearly as tight as the Extang was after 3 yrs. The fabric just has a loosness that I don't think looks great.
