Bear in mind, I just traded in a 8500ish pound, full sized, 3/4 ton, diesel truck for my new Tacoma. So this morning, with yet another snow storm hitting us in the North east, I was not happy about traveling. But, being in construction, I had no option. I have to say it. DAMN this truck is good in the snow!!! For being a much smaller truck than I am used to, my new Tacoma outperformed my full sized truck in every manner. I have no idea how Toyota does it, but they do. I have a feeling it has to do with electronics, but what do I know? On the way home with 14-16 inches of snow and barely a plow truck to be seen? Same thing. I was a little taken aback at first, but my Tacoma inspired me with confidence. The more I drive my new Tacoma, the more she's muscling into my heart.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday/this morning. Omaha is awful at snow removal and mine went through it like it was nothing. Much, much better than my old '07 Access Cab, for whatever reason, and oh so very much better than my older '03 Ranger.

I hear ya. I have a Second gen Tundra and I firmly believe my First gen Tacoma was better in the snow...after the ride in this morning, I'm sure of it!

I also live in ma (berkshires) and had fun in the snow today. I had to bring my friend to work because he has an inferior honda which wouldnt even make it out of the driveway. its nice being confident in rough conditions. Thank you tacoma.

Had the same effect on me when I upgraded from a 96 4Runner to my 2012 Tacoma.... Toyota is where the similarities ended as the Taco is superior in every conceivable way. Enjoy your new ride!

UGH! have barely driven mine yet. Worked at home today in Connecticut! Might have to take it for a rip tonight. Glad to hear the positive reports on snow travel. Just got a nautical blue 2012 SR5 with low miles. Love it.

With a good set of tires Tacomas are great in the snow until you try and stop stop stop stop stop stop.......oh good no one was coming.

This is really weird. Most of the time when a new person posts here about their new Tacoma... they are pissed about the MPG, upset that it drives like a Truck, and are generally pissed off that it has a big open space in the back for storage/hauling stuff.

Who are you and what have you done with the normal "I am new here/Misinformed Consumer" tone I have come to expect from these "NEW TACO" threads?

I'm share the sentiment, I recently bought a "new to me" 06 DCSB TRD 4x4, quite an upgrade from my trusty and very rusty 96 K1500 ex cab. I wonder why I waited so long, could be the GM blood running through the family. My Grandpa, his brother, my dad, 2 uncles, 1 aunt, my sister and myself all worked at GM (or still do). I left in 08, finally jumped off the bandwagon and glad I did. What a rugged little truck.
