Noticed a sticker on the door jamb of my 2014 for the first time today. It is a warning that a modification that has been made to the truck has reduced the carrying capacity by "10 lbs. or 4.53 kilos"! Really?

    What mod would that be?

No really I have no idea. That seems like a very silly sticker.

I think it has something to do with your rear springs, but not entirely sure

I seen that same sticker on the neighbors truck. I asked him about it and he never even noticed it was there.

Makes me want to load the truck over 10 lbs. Just to do it.

who actually weighs the load in their truck any ways?
If It ain't on the bump stops then keep loading.

I got one on my 2011 DCLB, not sure why they would even bother with 1kg??

Mine says 3kg/7lb. I think it means my truck has options weighing 7 pounds that are not accounted for on the GVWR sticker. I'm sure it's some stupid federal law to ensure that they can put me in prison if I roll my truck over onto a spotted owl and they find out it was 7 pounds overloaded.

Federal law. If any factory modification is made by the manufacturer that reduces load capacity by ANY amount, it has to have this sticker.

What options does the truck have? Upgraded stereo, alarm, inverter, seat covers? Easier and cheaper for them to put a notice on than to change the capacity stickers and manual.

Mine says 47 lbs. Dealer says it is the weight of the factory installed running boards.
