When you are building a rig like that basically you need a good motor and trans. Everything else is going to be custom made and fabbed.

Most likely then the custom parallel rear 4 link coil spring set up will run $10,000 alone.

Coil overs are harder to package than coil springs, but they have a lot more tunability as compared to coil springs.

Why not start with an older truck, hit in the rear? Preferably with a popped motor.

Put an LSx and matching trans in place, T56 w/GearVendors OD, then build the appropriate rear suspension. Maybe graft in a Caddy IRS, Getrag diff, discs, etc. Or a Ford 8.8 if you prefer solid axle.

You bring up a good point about using an older model Tacoma instead to Parallel 4-Link the rear. The reason why I am going for a coil spring w/ shock setup together with limiting straps is because it will be easier to flatbed it instead of a 4 link coil over. The only limitation of a coil over is that they will go through the bed space.

If I am not mistaken, the picture of the green truck you posted has a triangulated 4-link. Just remember the parallel 4-link will require a rear track bar to center the axle. A triangulated 4-link will not.

@Sccafire - how do you prevent coil springs from popping out when four wheeling? Are spring retainers, and limiting straps good in accomplishing this? I see that you are based in Lincoln,ca by Roseville. I messaged you.
