Auxiliary Reverse Lights

You can wire up your reverse lights on a fancy 3-way switch like this:

 

Any night pix of these bad-boys in action?

 

I have a Toyota style(not OEM) push button switch, where is the best(or easiest) location to tap into power, and also best spot to tap into dash lights illumination? If it makes any difference, I have a 2007 Off Road model.

In the stock locations left of the steering wheel. Add a fuse circuit into the fuse panel behind the dash. Depending on switch wiring, you may/may not have to worry about dash illumination lights.

To clarify, just use a fuse tap with the green wire into a blank spot, correct?

Can I use the red 2 to tap into my factory fog switch to get the dimming capability, or is there a better location?

Just got 4 of these today and wanted to mount 2 under bumper for reverse lights. After reading through here (and another thread) I guess I cant just ground these to the chassis and run the red wire into the reverse lights.

There only 18W so I figured that^^ would work. I was gonna run an inline fuse on it but..... . guess I should run em to the cab onto a rocker. All I want them for is extra light when I put it in reverse.

Lustetaco, thanks for posting, that's EXACTLY what I want to do. I like the slim lights better. I'm trying to get a read on whether the existing holes allow you to perfectly align the lights parallel to the ground or if they are slightly tilted. Either way will work but my OCD wants them parallel, lol.

I'm guessing that because you used LEDs you didn't have to install a relay? These will help greatly with nighttime use of the backup camera I would bet?

 

Are you talking about the light I have on the rear fender well? They do need to be angled down a good bit but cast a decent amount of light behind. Like I said, if I had some decent lights on both sides it would work even better. This is just a cheap light that I spliced into the bed lights.
