I just finished the always 400W mod and added an outlet in the cab to support charging some basic electronics etc. I purchased a Leviton dual USB outlet. Everything seemed to go smoothly but when I tested the USB connection to charge my phone, nothing happened. I can plug in something else to run in the receptacle and it powers up just fine. The USB just doesn't work. There's nothing in the instructions that makes me think I missed something, simply hot, neutral, and ground. Anyone ever seen this/had this problem before? Thanks!

    Here's the outlet I'm using.

No issues for me. Mine works great.

You didn't test it before you put everything back together?

Easy enough to pull it apart and check. I'd get a new outlet now and have it on hand when you pull it all apart. In case it's just a bad outlet.

probably the output of the inverter itself.... its not a typical sine wave AC current... the USB charger probably does not like this and goes no thanks.

That stated they make all sorts of good 12v usb car chargers, and you wont even have to use your AC for that. Seems kind of pointless to go 12v -> 120v -> 5v usb

I don't know about this one outlet, but some types have different power (amps) at each port. Example: 1.1 apps on the left and 2.2 amps on the right.

Wife has the same scoshe outlet. Been working a couple years now. I have an old scosche outlet that sticks out a couple inches. Worked for several years now.

Well it looks like it's a stupid mistake. Outlet works just fine. My cord had got a little corrosion on it, so it worked when it was plugged in one way to the phone but not the other. Outlet and USB worked wonderfully on our road trip! Helped keep the kids' devices charged and was convenient for them.
