Real quick, just thought I'd share with you that after a mega run around, I was denied any service from Toyota for an attempt to resolve the low speed shudder.

Despite the overwhelming evidence of an abnormal driveability issue, they refuse to acknowledge it, own it, and fix it, and in addition, Toyota Motor Corp has been flat out rude.

I rec'd better customer service this week when a Store Manager for Baskin Robins Ice Cream opened up shop when everything else was shut down due to icestorm, to ensure my son's birthday cake was ready for pick up. We spent $35.00 there and rec'd better service than Toyota after spending $35,000.00. Shame on them.

I'm going to lift it, maybe that will fix it.

^^ actually...my lift (without the tires) fixed my shutter. I think has something to do with the rear suspension handling the tension/vibration from the rear axle.

I also think Toyota has accepted that they can't seem to fix the issue. We've had threads of guys going in and out and in and out many many times and they still get the shutter. Heck, people have even tried to sue, or sold their truck and bought another brand because of it - toyota can't seem to fix it and I'm guessing in the OP's thread - they've basicly said, sorry We cant do anything about it because its a characteristic of the truck.

Your truck is still under warranty. Take it to another dealer.

Thought about that, but the root of the problem is actually with Toyota Corp. Service Rep and Service Manager agree the truck has an issue, but Toyota Corp comes back and says it's normal. No fix.

Mine did better with the ICON progressive 3 leaf AAL. Relatively small lift and price to solve toyota's known issues.

Though to be fair it seems like for most people the vibes come from hard to track down drive line misalignment or angles. So a lift can reshuffle the deck as it were and things might become worse, better or perhaps just easier to diagnose and fix.

But of course once you lift Toyota isn't going to do anything about your vibe. Though they already told the OP to go pound sand so he doesn't have much to lose by waiting until after the lift to see where things lie.

When I installed my carrier bearing drop, it resolved my low speed shudder more than the TSB reflash for the transmission that is supposed to fix the shudder issue.

traction bars will fix the driveline shudder. But you'll lose some of the droop for off road though.

There has to be more to the story.

Corporate just doesn't close a case like that, while the rep and manager say otherwise.

I just don't get posts like this, Toyota has been the best to me. My dealer rocks and I am so pleased with my '14 Off Road 4x4 that I sent Toyota Corp. a email and they send me a gift of $350 to use at a dealer for accessories.

I have a good GM dealer also and I send GM Corp. a email after my dealer gave me good service on my wife's GMC, never heard a thing. I told my dealer that I tried to get them some props and they basically said "that is GM for you".

When I get good service, I try to pay it forward and get the recognized. It is nice when a big Corp. acknowledges you afterwards.

    ^^^^^

Consider yourself lucky. My local dealer won't acknowledge ANY tsb and they made an absolute mess on and under my old 2005 dclb when they did a trans flush, and I'm not even a clean freak. GM, well my wife had an SUV a few years back, they were so rude to her I almost punched the service writer. Not a fan of dealers around here and I consider myself easy to get along with. Guess its different in different cities.

My dealer has been great too , even printed out some TSB's for me , let me go back into the service bays while my truck was getting worked on and their tech worked with me to get my alignment exactly where I wanted it with my LR UCAs

Damn that's nice. Dealer here blames everything on the lift if the truck develops a problem. Everything.

Dealer tells me..."Yes, your truck vibrates and we'd love to fix it for you, however, we're waiting on Toyota to tell us how to." Toyota tells me..."This is a characteristic of the truck and we have no fix for it - sorry, there is nothing else we can do."

Sure I could fight it further, but geesh, I just don't have it in me.

I always had better luck out west with dealerships than I've had in TN. Good for you. :)
