Hey guys, I've got a 2012 TRD Sport. Just recently picked it up a few weeks ago. I've noticed when I step on the gas and get it going, there is a slight crackling noise coming from the engine compartment. I've seen most people say it's due to the motor being cold. But they say it happens in 10 degree weather. I'm in AZ where it rarely gets under 50 this time of year. Is this a normal sound for a Tacoma or any thoughts of what it may be? Thanks

Try a higher octane gas. You may be hearing pinging from reg gas. Just a thought.

Is that normal to have run that higher octane fuel?
