I am making a small mounting plate to be located on top of my dash (2015 DCSB Tacoma).

I want to drill several screws through the dash in these locations (haven't decided exact location yet).

Is there anything underneath that I need to be worried about?

    Thanks.

With the advancement of adhesive applications, ie: 20lb 3M Double Side Tape, why not go that route prior to drilling?
The idea being to start minimally evasive as it may be all you need without having to drill a perfectly good dash with potential regret.
    Either way, Good Luck!

Maybe make a bracket that comes out between top of radio and dash?

Brand new truck and drilling holes in dash? I'd go for tape instead. Drilling in dash is meant for mounting cb and guages in old ass ford and Chevy trucks!

I drilled two super tiny holes in the plastic of my previous Chevy to mount a CB mic hanger, and it was the dumbest decision ever. Not even in a terribly visible space like the top of a dash, and it drove me nuts once I removed the CB.

    Don't. Do. It.
