The rubber hose is covered with a green oils looking stuff from the hard line down to the compressor?

It is all over the rubber line and on the hard like at the compressor but not on the hard line at the top.
It is on the rubber line above the drip port for the oil filter and almost looks like it is from the fitting at the rubber to hard line at the battery.

First time I seen it I thought maybe a little dripping from the filter area but it cant be that as nothing else has oil on it.

Thoughts? Do they add a die in tye AC to start with new.
    Any history of bad lines?

I could see it, if it was at a fitting with an O ring. This is on the rubber line. Looks like anything at the crimp from the hard line to the rubber line.

so a 2012 truck that allready needs to have the AC fixed.....

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
Its die in the system, r134a has no color but the oil used in the system usually has die added so you can see a leak. Its not Freon, but its the newer version. If you have a black light it will all show up very well for you.

Has your truck ever been charged/serviced in the past? If the line is not damaged its a cheap fix either way usually jus an o-ring and a charge.

Don't use stop leak, mine leaked as well and was replaced under warranty. The replacement line was not insulated like the factory line.. Great work there..

Also, I don't think that they generally add die new but almost any top off, recharge or service will add die.

I have all the tools to service a/c so I just do it myself except the stupid line that was replaced on my Taco from warranty. No point in doing work that's "free"

Have you sprayed any WD-40 anywhere on the engine? WD-40 will dry out and crack all rubber components.

The thing to use is silicone for anything rubber... Silicone is the 'anti aging cream' for rubber. :)

Cracked plastic is a different story. I'd check for the plastic or rubber line for any movement... vibes.

Appears to be the "anti aging cream" for modern women too.

No the truck AC has not been serviced ever.

it is from the rubber line not at the point of the o rings.

Never sprayed WD 40 or any other on anything in the engine bay.

If they do not put it in from the get go it is a sign that is was having problems and was serviced before it was sold new.
