Hey guys, I have a 2008 DCSB TRD offroad. I'm getting some bad vibes from my front end, and when I rolled under and checked it today I found the CV shaft on the drivers side is moving around inside the diff quite a bit. There doesn't look to be any play in the shaft itself, just where it slides into the diff. Is there a bearing in there that supports the shaft that could be wiped out? Or some sort of retaining clip missing? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks guys. How long did it take you(roughly) to replace the bearing? Did you do both sides, or just the drivers side? If it's pretty loose now, you think I'll be alright waiting to do it until next weekend? I'd hate to wreck the diff.

There is only one on the drivers side. The passenger side is a ball bearing. Some people have gone a long time with it not fixed. But I don't know the negative effects of that.
