    G'day all,

I'm getting ready to install new Bilstein front and read shocks on my 2011 DC short bead TRD OR Tacoma. I am aware it's wise to also replace the front shock mount assys.

Checking the price for the shock mounts with my local Toyota dealer I find there are two versions and I need my vin number to determine the correct mount. The price ranges from $77 to $88.

If I shop on line I find price at the $26 to $35 level and there appears to be only one version.

I looked at Camelback Toyota, thy show one version for $64.

I know there a Toyota mark up but from $35 to $88.

Is there a difference? Is there a heavy duty version vs a standard version?

    Any education is appreciated.

    Thanks

    Bob

^ Yup, you don't need to replace the top hats. Put your billies in with the stock ones and you're good to go. If you install using the "no spring compressor" method you won't even unbolt those. Really easy job.
