Hey guys. My stepdad got the 2015 TRD sport. Ofcourse it didn't come with the temp display as some people have mentioned. What can you do get it? Is it as simple as buying the rear view mirror and plugging it in? Is all the wiring for that already installed? I haven't looked at his truck in that much detail, so idk any of this. I just want to know how/if we can install the temp display mirror easily. Or will it need to be all wired in with a temp sensor somewhere?? Thanks

Here's the link to the guy that sells a complete upgrade kit for $299:http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacoma-marketplace/328083-homelink-other-rearview-mirrors-2009-15-tacomas-other-toyotas.html

The truck has a factory plug hidden above the map lights and front head liner ready for a powered rearview miror. The kit comes with a prewired harness that plugs into this plug. The only real work is fishing the temp power wires through the firewall grommet to connect the temp sensor. I just did this install yesterday and total time start to finish was about 30 mins.

Hey mainwoodsballer... I just had mine delivered from the fellow at the link provided above. It's a nice Gentex. As i see it, it's a simple install for the compass, but the temp sensor needs to be snaked from the mirror, across the headliner, down the a-pillar through the firewall and out to the front of the vehicle.

A nice project for a heated Maine garage or a warm-ish April day.

    Enjoy,
    From Orono. ME

The temp gauge or wiring for a temp are not part of the factory plug in the headliner. The kit comes with a stand alone temp gauge that feeds the signal to just the mirror.

Is there an easy way through the firewall? Or so you have to create one? AKA make a hole?
