Ideas for visibly documenting places my truck has been on the truck

Wow, what a title! So as most others here are, I enjoy a lot of overland travel in my taco. I have been wanting to document all the places she has been for quite sometime, but I want it to be on the truck. I think it would be cool to have every place Shes visited written somewhere on her. So, my question is this: anyone have a good idea on how to do this? I'm thinking the format for each location would be something like 'Sedona, AZ: May 2014'. It would be nice if they were all written somewhere visible on the truck, but I don't want it to come across as tacky. One thought was cover the engine cover with places it's been (though that wouldn't be visible to most). Another was to get a bunch of custom stickers, but where to put them cleanly?

    Here's where I got the idea: http://carzz.co/trails_78221.jpg

Anyone done anything like this? Ideas? Am I crazy?

should have been more specific, its the geological survey coin-like pieces they stamp in most trails and elevation points. I have maybe 40 or so now but here is what 2 of them look like for crater lake.
