I just got my truck back yesterday. Took them a few months to get the parts in, but I drove my truck during that time. When I dropped it off they expected to have it for 5 business days.

Once they had my truck in 50 pieces they realized they had a frame for an extended cab and mine is double cab so it sat in their bay waiting for a new frame. The new frame came but they didn't have the main wiring harness which took almost another month to come.

All told they had my truck for 51 days. Paid for a rental that whole time.

I am thinking the total cost to do this ended up being more than I paid for the truck 3 years ago.

I am not complaining. But then I had a Ram 1500 rental, not a camry!

I've been waiting since Dec 13,2013. Called them today because I heard they were getting in 8 frames but not one of them are mine and the ones coming in next week aren't mine either so still waiting.

I'd be on no hurry if I had a Ram rental like you did. Corporate tells me they don't have an ETA on when parts will come in. I believe the frames are stamped with the vehicles VIN. I don't think the dealer can play games with the parts.

Mine has been at the dealer since December 17, and they are still waiting on the frame. I was told 3 months on the outside until I go it back, but they were hoping that it would be less time.
I've been in a brand new Ram 1500, that is costing them 1400 a month to rent for me.
I drove past the service shop today, and for the first time (other then emptying the lot for plowing), my truck was inside the building.
Hoping to call Monday and get good news, if not, I'll just keep beating the heck out of the Ram.

if that's the case, there's an extended cab frame out there somewhere with my VIN on it!

Think they are really paying full retail for the rentals? I'd be stunned.

And if I was a Toyota auditor, I'd be looking for someone's head.

I would think so, because Enterprise tried to put me a $40 a day Jeep and had agreed to a $60 a day vehicle with Toyota. When the service manager found out, he wasn't happy.
Since they couldn't find a mid-size pick up that fit my needs (part time job is carpentry) I got the Dodge.

Toyota originally wanted me to go thru my insurance for the rental, but nipped that in the bud. Their fault I didn't have my truck, they were paying, not me.

Wow! The only reason I am glad I live in Phoenix. Don't have to deal with frame rust. Good luck!

you have a way to go to catch up with me. I hope you don't! Brought mine in end of September. Dealer told me 1 month for parts and 1 week to replace frame. My dealer has 20 trucks in a parking lot, 1 mile from the dealership waiting for the replacement. Not too happy with Toyota anymore.

Unfortunately, I'm in the same situation as others here on this frame recall. My truck has been on a dealer lot since 12/22/14. They found a couple of holes in my frame the size of golf balls. I never noticed them as they were hidden by the exhaust, but admittedly I don't routinely crawl under my truck other than to change the oil. Anyhow, they would not allow me to keep driving my truck and put me in a rental (GMC terrain). The wife hates the rental but my hands are tied at this point.

Has anyone negotiated a check/buy out instead of a frame replacement? If so, please let us know so we can follow the same process. I'd much rather get a check for $12K-$15K so I can pick up a new 2016 Tacoma. :D

MianeHunter, Is the year 2013 a typo? Over a year is unreal. Have you called corporate. That's ridiculous. I thought 6 months was bad.
