    Check this out.

    What I know:

Trailer weighs ~4300 pounds on its own. Bus is aluminum so while not EXTREMELY heavy, its still large regardless. Probably a bit over rated load here, no? My brother helped them load it up.

In case its too difficult to see, its a V6 4X4 with factory tow package, automatic trans.

Yea, not well. According to my brother who is on the Toyotaholics page, a member said he saw them fish-tailing (aka needlessly endangering other drivers) on the I-5 freeway. The grunt is there on this truck, but it's not even a LWB and just isn't built to handle this kind of load. I-5 in WA is easy terrain and weather has been PERFECT lately. Imagine in less than stellar conditions and on a crappy road.

I pull a 4800lb trailer with ease with mine. My tacoma weighs more than my first generation tundra. I actually like pulling with the taco better than my 08 crewmax. I read my transmission temp on my scan guage while towing with no significant temp increase. I wonder if all these people giving towing advise with a tacoma have actually towed with one.

I'm not an expert but it probably would have swayed less if they had backed the bus onto the trailer. If i'm not mistaken the engine was in the rear of the bus. So a lot of the weight was behind the trailer axle and was lifting up un the rear of the truck. It looks as if there was no sag in the rear of the truck. He might have had air bags.

4800 is well within the rated tow range, clearly this isn't. I towed plenty with my 06 DCSB Tacoma, my 05 Tundra DC towed much better.

If you're going to do something stupid, dangerous, and something that could potentially affect others on the public roads, then you should expect at least some constructive criticism, if you will.

Hearsay? Locals reported this guy fish-tailing on the freeway, I would describe that as an eye witness account.

Your brother heard from some guys on a forum that he was fishtailing? No video? I'd call that hearsay.

He said the TRAILER weighted 4300# the bus probably went close to 6,000.

Still couldve been under 6500 depending on weight of bus, but I will still say I was way more comfortable towing with our 1500hd than our tacoma ^^^

That could be 8k to 10k lbs of trailered weight, if the trailer empty weight is accurate.

These trucks just are not designed for that kind of towing.

I'm surprised the truck didn't fold like a tin can the first time they hit the brakes.

Not surprised the tail was wagging the dog here.

Hopefully they don't do that again.

Dunno, but that trailer doesn't look like it weighs in at 4,300 lbs. Just me, looks like a top heavy load, loaded with to much weight forward of the axles.

    Too few to list.
Can't be any worst than below. I guess that shows the Atkinson Cycle Motor can tow.

I just looked it up. It's a Load Trail 20' tandem axle hydraulic pintle hitch flatbed, GVWR is 14,000 lbs and the EMPTY WEIGHT is 4,184 lbs.
