Carrier bearing problem

    Looks nice and tight. Its a rubber boot its gonna have some up/down play even brand new. Mine has more than that and it was just replaced. The twisting idk about though. I heard that indicated bas u joints. Mine doesn't twist. although i always checked mine in park

    Cool, I guess the noise I've been hearing might be something else. In park it won't twist at all.

    it wont twist in park...at work so i can't watch the vid but what kind of noise?

    I've had to replace U joints twice and carrier bearing once so i might be able to help

    It's kind of a grinding noise, only at take off. Specially when taking off on an uphill. I'll try to take a video.

    Is it more like a ratcheting noise? Mine has been doing that for a while on faster starts, or more power input than normal. I am in the process of replacing the ujoints as well as the carrier bearing. My carrier bearing as a Lot of play compared to other Tacoma's I've seen, so I assume that is the problem.

    Mine does that if traction control (abs) or hill start assist kicking in. Normal sound if that's the case.
