Quick tech question. I'm replacing my toytec coilovers with Fox 2.5s next week; in order to allow the coilovers to come out easily should I just remove the lower ball joint nut of my Desert Racing UCAs? I've done several lift kits but can't remember how I did this one. Thanks in advance. And the Toytec COs will be up for sale soon.

I disconnected my sway bar where it attaches to the spindle. Then I disconnected the upper ball joint which allows the LCA and spindle to fall away. Then unbolt the coil over and pull it out.

I'm not running a sway bar any more, so step 1 complete. You disconnected the spindle from the UCA's ball joint by removing the lower nut correct? Was there any pressure on it when the nut came off?

I unscrewed the castle nut on the upper ball joint bolt until it was almost off, hit the UCA with a hammer which disengaged the taper on the ball joint and let the nut "catch" the pressure. Then unscrewed the castle nut the rest of the way.

first thing... lower ball joint... and UCA are not the same thing.

You can undo the lower ball joint on the LCA (lower control arm) via the 2 bolts that hold it to the spindle, Mark the alignment tabs, loosen the LCA bolts at the fram and the whole assembly will drop out so easily you dont even need a spring compressor.

this is the way i would do it.

Thanks, my terminology while typing didn't transfer. I meant the lower nut OF the UCA ball joint. I'll give your LCA method a shot.
