Alright so I'm new here and this is my first tacoma, coming from a Chevy.. So I'm trying to do this rear diff mod because I was in wet grass the other day and had to put it in 4wd just to get out when it would've pulled right out if the rear locked.. At the time I wasn't aware the locker only worked in 4lo.. But anyways I was going to do the relay mod but all the radioshacks around here are goin outta business and have literally nothing in them.. So no relays unless I order it online, but I found an "alternative" as they call it where you put a switch in and fool the 4wd ecu into thinking its in 4lo.. Well I tried the switch mod because I like it better than having to cut so many wires but I couldnt get it to work..I'm sure im doing it right, I just don't know if something changed for the 2013 models.. So if anyone with a 2013 has done this mod or the relay mod and it works please let me know.. And how you done it..I know there are threads on here showing how to do them but I haven't seen anyone with a 2013 post and say it works..so basically if you have a 2013 and have done the rear diff lock mod please let me know how you did it..

It won't throw a code from distance, only if you go over a certain MPH. I just use my ultragauge to clear the code.

So yes, it is at 25 mph but not just with the locker on. When I flick my switch even if I don't engage the locker the truck thinks it is in 4-lo and it will throw the code.
