Can anyone please tell me if the main portion of the left and right outside mirrors can be removed without pulling the door panels and whole mirror stem on a 2015 DC 4x4 SR5? I noticed scratches all over the black plastic outer mirror covering which must have been done at the dealers when they cleaned the truck for my purchase. Looks like dirty cleaning cloth? Thanks!

Did you just leave the dealer with this truck? If so I'd think about taking it in and asking them to correct the issue.

Don't have an answer for you though. I've got the 2015 DC 4x4 SR5 too - long box. Same plastic mirrors.

No I left dealer a month ago. However, I don't wipe the truck down, I blow it dry. I use the same blower technique on my Harleys. No touch no scratch. Its a classic case of dealer brain deads getting another one quickly through the line I'm sure. It looks like the mirror, and outer housing can be removed without taking the stem out? Not positive though because of mirror control wiring. Not sure which end has the connector clips

For anyone else looking for this information, any Tacoma without the built in turn signals, the mirror heads do not have removable covers and you must remove inside door panel to remove them to disassemble. Maybe this info will help someone else?

To take your mirrors off simply take off the triangular black plastic piece and behind there will be the bolts to undo the mirror.
