I could see this. It is kinda hard to believe that that sort of mentality exists, especially from a fellow Tacoma owner. Generally speaking, we're fucking geniuses. And good looking.

Would you buy a car that was "truck like"? I'm guessing no. So why would you want to buy a truck that was "car like"?

The wrong sticker is no big deal.

Someone was sporting an "SR5 Off Road" sticker on theirs which is ultra tacky.

Mine does and it drives me insane. Almost every time I go down a hill and hit the brakes it downshifts to 3rd.

if it auto downshifts like that you can bring it up one gear at a time by going from D to 4 back to D real quick.

Or if you want to go straight back to 5th go D to N back to D real quick and boom your in 5th and not in fuel cut.

Struggling with the idea of "Truck Like"

I've driven a lot of loaded semis that were as smooth as my Tacoma, or smoother. And smoother than any 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck. Is a 650hp tractor not a truck because it has a suspension system that is well designed for its intended purpose? Seems pretty truck-like as the Jake is kicking in with 220,000 lbs behind it...

I'll have to try that! Thanks! I had been tapping the throttle to get it back to 5th but that doesn't work consistently and sometimes I don't want to accelerate but also don't want as much engine braking as it is giving me by dropping to 3rd.

Just goes to show it's a basic truck that performs well.

    LOL
I towed a fully loaded trailer and a PACKED bed and cab all the way from MD to UTAH
Airbags worked great and NO ISSUES in 2200 miles.
Mine 13 Taco DCLB sport with tow pkg.

you can also take the truck out of full fuel cut (say if you are heading down hill but letting off the gas is too much engine braking even if the trans is in 5th) simply go D to N back to D and this will actually feed a little bit of fuel to the motor and take it out of fuel cut, that way you can "coast"
