new tires

can someone tell me what the difference is in these 2 tire sizes

LT265/75R16 E AND
LT265/75R16 D ??

THE E series is more expensive by about $10 a tire.

and would these be good all season tires and good for highway use?

The E tire has more plys than the D and a higher load capacity

 

Hit the nail on the head. Its load ratings.

 

I wouldn't buy either for highway use unless you're towing.

 

what do you guys recommend for tires then? I want a tire that is aggressive looking good in snow and drives nice on the highway for all season use.

The BFG ATs are the most aggressive AT I have seen. Or you can try looking at tight lugged MTs. The KM2s look awesome!

 

They aren't the most aggressive but I use Firestone Destination A/T's. I have nothing bad to say about them though I haven't used them in the snow. They're good on the highway, stable and low road noise. I will be taking a trip up to NJ next Saturday, as a matter of fact. Took the same 580 mile (each way) trip last June and they were great.

One way to keep your MPG low is to buy P rated tires like I did. Like I said above, if you aren't towing or doing major off roading, there's no reason to get anything else. P rated tires will also cost you less. Mine were $504 installed at Firestone for 265/75/16's.
