I know this is really just personal opinion, and possibly open for debate, but I am looking to replace my ToyTec Coilovers with something that rides soft/smoother than stock. My truck is a commuter, and does't get wheeled ever, I'd like it ride as smooth as a mid-70's Cadillac.

    Any suggestions for the group?

    Thanks in advance

What is your current suspension setup in the rear?

Going back to stock is probably going to be the softest ride you'll find.

^^^ This! You bought a truck, quit bitching. :) The stock suspension is about as "Caddy like" as you're gonna get.

People are always selling take-off suspensions. If you bought one from an sr5 or TRD off road model they would be softer than your original suspension was. The Sports have firmer springs.

You could also try something like an OME 883 spring setup but I don't know if it would be softer. Just better at absorbing bumps.

This is also true. I always felt my stock Off Road suspension handled like a big sedan. As a matter of fact I have my stock take offs sitting in my garage with less than 1k miles on them... lol

    Put weight in the bed.

Personally I love the rough ride of my taco, more than my smooth Lexus.

stock is prob your best option

I'm in the same boat. Thinking that 5100 with 833 coils might be the best setup for my mostly on road use. Just looking for something better than the crap set up in my 2014 base access cab. Was going to get toytec coilover. Where i live the roads are very bad!

Factory sr5 suspension with p rated tires and 200lbs in the bed. Mine rides nicer than any other truck I've had, in that configuration. Softer than most cars I've owned. I can't wait to change it as the body roll sucks with a few people in the truck. The stock tires just push through turns. Want to buy my stock junk take offs?
You lifted your truck and run bigger heavier tires, so yeah.... Go back to stock and make sure to run softer tires.

Good point here. If you have anything more firm than load range C, your ride will be more firm.

Also check your tire pressure. Maybe a mechanic that got his hands on your truck pumped them way up. I like 32 psi in mine.

Some mechanics just think that every tire in the world needs 35 psi....

Or if you can get a set up shocks from a limited it will change your ride, and I'm sure its going to be expensive.

    enough to go over stuff
Stock with some low ply car tires is about the softest your going to get. The reason trucks dont ride super soft is they are meant to be work horses and carry additional wieght cuz there a truck.

Full size trucks ride softer simply because they weigh more. The Taco is light, and rides like a wagon.

I think a key fact people are overlooking is the OP said he's replacing the TOYTEC springs, so he DOESN'T have stock suspension right now. Come on people, try not to be dicks.

Like some of the helpful posts have said, buy a set of used factory springs from somebody. The yellow bilstein shocks are most likely going to ride rougher than the darker, no name factory shocks. Is your rear suspension factory? Is it possible you or somebody else put an AAL back there?
