Well, shit, it doesn't work with the fob. In other words, I can't lock / unlock the truck while it is running with the fob, even with this mod done. Arrggg.

Does work with the manual or power lock buttons though. I'll just cut a second key and keep it on a small clip on my keys to remove as needed to manually lock the running truck. Better than it was, fo' sho'!

I found the OP's directions a little hard to follow, overly simple for a retard like me.

Here's a more thorough explanation and pics:

    Turn engine on.

Turn steering wheel left, exposing the screw behind the steering wheel on the left front of the steering column plastic. Remove that screw.

Turn steering wheel right, exposing the screw behind the steering wheel on the right front of the steering column plastic. Remove that screw.

    Turn wheel back to center.

    Turn engine off. Remove key.

Press in on the sides of the bottom piece of trim pastic surrounding the steering column and kind of wiggle, squeeze, pry on it. It will disengage from the top plastic and you can remove it. This is a little awkward with the tilt adjuster but you can maneuver the column around and move the plastic off.

Look at ignition / key switch. The white two prong connector on the front side of it is the target. Pic 1, below.

    Unplug that connector. Pic 2.

Test by installing key in ignition, there should be no beep.

Reassemble the steering column plastic, screws; in reverse order of above. This is a good time to defunk the plastic and the rubber flange that covers the top of the column as mine was nasty.

    Done.

    .

    .

Also, the seat belt chime and light disconnect worked for me, I unplugged the black with green stripe connector under the driver's seat. Pic #3 below. Yellow cased wiring is for the airbag.

Thanks to OP and (some) other posters.

interesting, Would unplugging the sensor under the seat disable anything else other than the seat belt alarm?

Cool, thx. So I'll try the one I circled on the pic attached.

Also... I wonder if this would work as well, granted its a tundra.

On the drivers side it should be just the seat belt chime.

On the passenger side it will make it so the passenger airbag stays off as it is tied in with a weight sensor. With the plug undone the weight sensor can't turn on the passenger airbag.

On my '14 it was the smallest plug in the middle under the seat. You should be able to see 2 wires going into the plug, black wire and a white wire with a black stripe on it :)

This worked on my 2013. Nice not to have the nanny beep anymore.

Its the plug I have circled in yellow on one of my previous posts.

Not that I know of. From my understanding if there were ANY issues with the airbag system the dummy light would come on like a christmas tree.

It is the one closest to the center console. It is 2 wires - one black and one white.
