I know you said that you don't want to put them underneath the truck, but I put mine in the trailer hitch plug (7-pin plug) mounting bracket. That location has worked great for me, but if you do a lot of off-roading they will probably get smashed... I'm usually only doing some pretty mild off-roading so it hasn't been an issue for me.

Mine are in the storage boxes. It was like that when I bought the truck. Seems like a convenient place for them.

    No mods whatsoever!
Put mine in the drivers side storage bin. I remember reading about some mounted near the gas cap under the fuel door.

Mine are in the metal corner piece just inside the tailgate. Easy to remove taillight to route tubing. I'll post a picture shortly.

I don't have pics, but mine are on either side of the hitch receiver, in the horizontal top plate of the receiver with the valves pointing downward. They are very easy to access and are well protected.

I originally had them facing the back of the truck, coming through the vertical plate in the back of the receiver, but my spare tire was pressed against the hoses on the back of the valves. When I go to a larger tire, the spare would have pinched the hoses.

Mine came with a bracket that you can zip tie on the hitch. I mounted it underneath but pointing up so that it did not interfere with clearance. No holes drilled and no complicated routing, but out of the way.

Works well so far. Drop the tailgate, open the bin, a few quick pumps of air and I'm good to go.

i have this set on my truck, works super awesome, i have my atv on the bed and tow my buddies trailer with his atv. Question..

when not needed, i remove the valve so air can go in and out of the bag. is this adviseable?

theoreticaly, i feel it makes the suspension stock. if i have the valve in, makes the ride slightly bouncy. if i put air and bed is empty, even more bouncy.

is it adviseable to remove air valve so air can go in n out whenever or am i supose to have some air in there?

also, i use the existing holes in the botom of the bumper on each side. For my use, i need to access the airvalve while tailgate is down and trailer being pulled. so the original holes in the bmper bottom on each side is best access for me.

    somethign to think about.

I believe that when you're not needing the help of these that you should still be running about 3-4 lbs pressure in them.

I mounted mine on either side of the 7 pin plug bracket. That bracket has been known to take a beating off road. However, a friend of mine ran his through the license plate mounting holes in the bumper and that worked like a champ.

I think you are correct. 5 lbs sticks in my mind for some reason. I run mine at 9-10 day to day.

You can see the holes just behind the valve stems where I originally had them located.
