Question about door panel removal and Sound proofing

I'm going to be replacing my front door speakers and applying some dynamat to the doors and couldn't find an answer to this question. Does the OEM plastic weather proofing sheet need to be removed before applying the dynamat or can the dynamat be applied over the plastic?

 

I think you want to put the dynamat on the inside of the door on the backside of the exterior body panel.

Thanks for those links. I've read through a lot of threads in the audio section but still haven't really found a good set of pictures for what I'm thinking of doing. That one thread you posted is incredible and impressive but that's WAY more work than I'm looking to do.

 

Sound deadening is a lot of work. I have 20 hours in my truck and 35 hours of labor in my Civic sound deadening everything.

Do it right or its not worth it.
