Help Me Decide: 5100s and Toytec AAL or New Rims and Tires 1st

I am trying to decide which to get 1st:

Bilstein 5100s and Toytec AAL OR Pro Comp 7089s (17x8) wrapped in Nitto TGs. I would love to run 285/70/17s on the new shoes so spacers would be required.

Am I better off getting the 5100s and AAL 1st then get the tires, rims, spacers? I don't think 285s works on stock height even with spacers (is that right?).

Eventually, I'll have both done over time, so just wanting to know which one I should do 1st.

You need to lift the truck before installing 285’s.

 

Would the 5100s set at 2.5 and Toytec AAL (had TSB done 2 months ago) be enough lift to install the 285s with spacers?

 

you dont need spacers if you get the new wheels. the new wheels should have 4.5" back spacing.

with stock wheels you will need spacers, and 2.5" on the 5100 should be enough with some trimming

 

So with the procomps and the 4.5" backspacing coupled with the 5100s set to 2.5, I don't need the spacers, just some plastic trimming?

Yeah...Lift then tires- Don't want to re-rubber the truck twice.
Max backspacing is 4.5- You can go less than that too. Offset is as related measurement and needs to be between 0 to -12 I think...and then yes just a but of trimming should hook it up!!

 

Okay, thanks all for the information! I will lift it 1st then get new tires/rims in about 1-2 months.

Now, I've never trimmed the inside of my wheel well, so off to research how to do that.
