    Just found out today that the 2008 Tacomas will have $500 rebate starting 0n 11-02-2007. Good thing I have not agreed to a purchase yet. The salesman did not say how long the REBATE is good for, but it will be good for me when I purchase mine sometime next week.

    Also, the salesman informed me that the Sales tax on the truck does not factor in the REBATE for calculating sales tax as the most states consider the rebate as "CUSTOMER CASH" and as such it gets applied after the sales tax has been calculated.

    This is what I mean. For example:

    If the truck cost $10,000, 6% Sales tax (PA case) would be $600.00. So the truck cost w/tax would be $10,600.00 minus the $500 rebate which brings the cost to $10,100. Not the $10,070 as shown below.

    Vehicle Price $10,000
    Less Rebate -$500
    Sub Total $9,500
    6% tax == $570
    Total = $10,070.00

    What a croc!!:mad:
