Hood scoop ???

How would it look and how hard would it be to add a hood scoop without buying a brand new hood with a hood scoop already on it? Would it look better since my truck is black?

i think that if u got a descent looking scoop and did it right....ie fiberglassing, welding, or however to smooth it all out, it would look pretty good.

i'm actually buying a cowl hood scoop that is a bolt-on design and painting it to match the truck. a bolt-on or stick-on scoop is the only way you'll avoid tearing apart your hood and molding the scoop into it. the stick-on ones kind of suck anyway, but either way you'll have to have it painted. i'd say check the prices of a bolt-on w/ paint and compare that to the price a scoop that can be molded on and having the whole hood painted

yea not too many people do just because you have to drill into the hood and it will create rust problems later on, its best just to mold on and repaint

after remembering the rusting issue with the bolt-ons, i'm just going to have mine molded on. i'm actually doing a 3" cowl that is rounded off and follows the contours of the stock hood, should be sick when it's done

I was looking at the certifit website and saw the price of the hood with the scoop. How in the heck can they be so cheap? (~$150.00). Am i missing something??

So, tell me again. What's the point of a scoop if it's not connected to your intake?

I think it is mostly how the scoop looks that is why I want one. But still $116.50 still sounds to good to be true even not painted!

What do you think a quality paint job would run?
