Well the plan was to leave Friday Morning and stop in Ensenada at the "contingency" to look at all the trucks. Unfortunately i couldn't get the day off so i'm leaving right after work on friday (around 3pm). Some of my buddies that did get the day off will leave Friday morning to Contingency and we hope to meet up with them once I arrive to Ensenada...

If it's too late for that, then they are going to head to Ojos Negros and i'm just going to meet them somewhere along the track (by the Road crossing in Ojos Negros)

    When are you leaving?

Im leaving Yuma friday morning, around 9. Hope to be crossing the border say 12:00 or so and be in Ensenada by 1 or 1:30. Thats my best Guesstimate. Usually takes a bit longer trying to round up the troop and head out. Im not to familiar with the Road Crossing at Ojos Negros but would like to be in an area where they are flying bye.

If you look at the map, the road crossing is just past the "No prerunning" area..
It's actually right where prerunning begins. They come parallel to HWY 3 out of Ensenada and then cross the road to head south.. There's usually a lot of people around here because of the easy access to the race track, relatively close to Ensenada, and If you set up at the right location you can see them pass twice..
Take a look at the map.

Check out the "ojos negros jump" in youtube.. That jump is crazy packed but if you don't mind, it's pretty cool. If you don't like the crowds, you can just keep going on the track for a few minutes and there's less and less people.

I doubt we'll be staying right at the jump because the crowds make it exciting but they usually crowd the road (look at videos in Youtube) and you can''t see much...

We'll probably be about 15 minutes into the race track (south) from the crossing at HWY3... I don't think you can actually see them twice from one spot but you would probably have to drive about 15 minutes to find the return track. That way you can see the majority of the vehicles as they begin the race and then see the leaders/survivors come back into Ensenada.

Not on this forum... You might want to check out www.race-dezert.com
usually about 1 week before the race, people start threads about car-a-vaning
    down to Ensenada.
