Modifications, round 1.

Progress is being made on my cage and my ego wanted to post some pictures.

Things are being test-fit at the moment and everything is only tacked in place. The frame reinforcement below the cage attachment points are permanent, but everything else will be pulled and re-tacked a few more times before it's done.

Future mods involve the rest of the cage, the fuel cell, suspension, storage, mounts for spare tires, and a whole pile of other goodies. It's nice to see the start of big things.

Completely random side-fact here: I met Evan Smith today. Cool guy with lots of great pics from the SEMA show.

So I hae a background in Mopar muscle.

When we welded up a cage, not only did we do it for safety, but it also strengthened and unitized the body for less flex.

Were you going for that to?

This looks like a drag truck.

What motor mods are you doing?

Did you put it on the scale before mods?

ON my Plymouth Belvedere, after seats, dash, heater, carpet, etc was stripped, I lost almost over 100 lbs.

SCORE class 7sx. Looking to do some serious offroading with the rig while keeping it comfy as a tongue-in-cheek daily driver. A/C, power everything, and CD changer with the steering wheel controls will still function, although I'm going to lose the side vents as we're running the tubes through those openings and into the floor of the cab.

I'm not overly concerned with weight as I'll be attaching quite a bit of metal to the bottom for skidplates and such. I'll also be coating most everything inside the cab with bedliner to protect the metal and deaden road noise.

The cage will bolt through the floorpan using 6" plates on the top and bottom. The bottom plate will have the same 2" chomoly tubing attaching it to the frame for support. We'll also be attaching the A pillars to the cage for additional rigidity. The idea is to restrict movement of the cab on the frame as much as possible. The rear glass will be replaced with lexan to compensate for any movement that does occur.

As for the engine, it's staying stock aside from the TRD intake and Gibson exhaust. I want to run the engine as cool as possible in the event that I have to run low-octane pump gas in Mexico.

"Mods" pretty much seems like too light of a word for your project.
