    Thanks to a recent unintelligent thread, I thought it might be interesting to see if there are any trends where specific models are built in US or Mexico. If your VIN starts with a 3 your truck was built in Mexico, if it starts with 5 it was built in the US. Please list your specific model, and whether it was built in the US or Mexico plant. Not really that it matters to 99% of us, but I would find it very interesting if Toyota builds most of the higher end models in Mexico... cheaper labor = more profit in TRD models?

    I will start.

    My 2008 4x4 Access Cab 4 cylinder base model was built in the US.

    I put base model 4 cylinder in the poll, but please choose base model anyway if you have a V6 or 4 banger. I can't edit the poll now.

    I know a vin beginning with 3 means its made in mexico right? Is that the only part of the vin that matters?
