Expanded metal comes in various gauges and opening sizes, not sure of the exact sizing of mine. I just know it looked about right and was cheap.

I was thinking about doing exactly that already but having step by step instructions is very helpful, thanks. When I took a quick look, I thought I would have to take the headlights off to remove the grille Did you have to do this, how does the grille come off?

You dont have to take off healights to remove grill(its the oppisite way around you need to take off grille in order to take off hedlights). Take off the 2 tabs and 2 screws and just pull up on the grille and it pops right off.

Really nice job ! Prefer that bit of inset vs Grillcraft @ 0%, or Satoshi at 100%
Question though .... I like the mesh grille/driving light look.
Any ideas how to mount driving lights without the grille inner surround to hang 'em from?

i dont get it? why go through all that trouble and ruin a grill just to tack on some mesh to the back side? the whole idea of the satoshi is the d e p t h which there is none of here.

You don't get that it's a different way to mod your grill? Does the final product look ruined to you? It's pretty sick IMO. I like the look of the satoshi ok but the d e p t h isn't my shtick.

you obviously dont get it, as stated this isnt a satoshi. he doesnt want to make his truck to look like it has a r i c e tuner grill, but rather modded.

i personally was going to do the satoshi (even purchased an extra grill) but couldnt get over the depth of it, the only thing i did not like about it. i then was thinking of a grillcraft, but could come to spend the $200+ for it.

this mod is nearly like the grillcraft, for a fraction of the price. to the OP, thanks and rep for posting this, i really appreciate it!

Awesome idea, great write-up, and freak'n sweet results. Though, I still think I'm gunna try my hand at the Satoshi, this would be my second choice for sure.
