Dumb question.

Whare is the slip yoke/joint on the 05+ Tacomas? It has to be between the carrier bearing and diff right? is it in the diff? Or part of the secondary drive shaft? I know I don't have grease zerts on it with my 06, but was thinking about trying to lube it up another way.

 

From what the dealership told me, you don't have to grease it because its sealed. Just look for the rubber flex hose just behind the carrier bearing. Its in there.

Ummmm.......... There are no flex hoses on the drive line. You got to be "F" en with me.

 

The slip yoke is "under" the rubber boot on the rear drive shaft. If you want to grease it (because of binding/thumping when coming to a stop), you will have to take it apart and hand grease it.

 

Thank you. Thats what I thought. Yes, Im getting the clunk. In the future Im going to get a Tom Woods that will replace all that. But for now Im about to go on a three week road trip and just wanted to maybe a temp lube job.
