Recharging A/C

Is there any DIY posts on how to recharge the a/c?

I don't remember the terminology, but the refrigerant is different than it used to be. It is not user serviceable anymore because it is considered hazardous now.

old r22 is no longer used, even though some old cars/trucks still use it and havent been retro fitted. now.....most everyone uses r134a.

 

Your 06 should be R134, you can pick it up at wally world or any auto parts store. Quick google search http://autorepair.about.com/od/regularmaintenance/ss/AC-recharge_2.htm

So, maybe you can charge it? I think maybe it's releasing it that is hazardous.

yeah...you can charge the system with the refrigerant kits you can buy, but i think you have to be certified to release/capture it. i think so anyway.
