EGR Slim Line window visors

Anybody installed these visors on their 09 DC? Ordered a set after seaching the forum but had bad info that the slim line series were in channel visors. They are tape on series. I have not installed them but held them up along the window and they do not seem to fit correctly. they look a little long. Anybody with similar problem? Anybody have bad story with tape on visor? much thanks in advance.

EGR slim line #644981.

Any chance you can return them? If you want in channels then get in channels. I have a set on my 06 DC and love them, much cleaner and not cheap looking than the stick on variety.

EGR Slimline series come in both tape on and in-channel version. In installed a set (front 7 back) of in-channels on my 09 DC. No problems except that the tape for the back ones are a little weak. I picked up some double sided tape at Home Depot and now they are rock solid.

Some folks complain that over time, and under extreme conditions, the tape on ones come loose or even tear off. Others have them on for years with no complaints. My cousin's left visor is peeling off his 07 4Runner. I think it probably has more to do with how well you prep the surface...and if you bugger up the tape with your fingers, prior to installation.

I personally think the in-channels look much cleaner as fat as aesthetics go.

If you want in-channel, exchange them and get in-channel. I know what it's like to just want to get something done...so you compromise for the sake of immediate gratification (I apologize if this is not your reason). My point is that in the end, my dissatisfaction of not having what I want always wins out...and I end up buying what I originally wanted and it costs me more in the end.

Someone has to have them. I just ordered mine earlier this month. Did you try to google for them? It may take some searching, but I would imagine there are some people who still have them.

Autoanything site does not list an EGR in Channel for 05-09. They are trying to sell me an AVS in channel but I really like the slim look of the EGR.

Come to think of it, I think I ordered 2008 visors, because they would fit a 2009. I got them at usautoparts.net.

As of 3 months ago when I ordered my EGR Slimline Visors (as they were called), I had to order the 2008. Nothing was available for 2009 but they are the same from 05+.

As I indicated in the OTHER THREAD...the EGR In=Channel visors are now called "In-Channel Rain Guards". You can get them from AutoAnything HERE. They are $69.95 shipped.

My in-channel visors operate just as I would hope (and I'm a perfectionist). I did add tape to the outside of the front visors (so the window does not hit the tape) to eliminate any gap they had and it works great. Without this, they had room to move back and forth and would make noise (vibrate) at speeds. The rear ones installed flawlessly.

My last 3 vehicles had tape-one (AVS) visors. I never had a problem with any of them and never even realized the grass was greener with in-channels. If you can't return them, use them. They do the same job.

Yeah, like I said, I think the people (cousin included) who have problems with their tape-ons is due to a lack of proper preparation of the area. i.e. cleaning with alcohol wipes...or they just plain smacked them.

Cool

I used in channels in my former ranger for almost 10 yrs and never had a problem with them, now in my Taco I got Lund stick on and never had a problem with them for 3 yrs now.
Thou I like the in channel style, I found out that stick on works the same, not even the trails has gotten to them and my paint is all scratched around them from the trails

Got my EGR In Channel yesterday. The front took 10 second each to install. Fit in snug. The rear visors had a thin strip of tape but fit very loose. I had to add thick double sided tape to istall for a snug fit.
