Factory hitch bolt covers on bumper

    Llumar CTX Tint, Grillcraft MX Upper, Pro Comp Rockwell 5034 17x8.5, Nitto Terra Grappler G2 LT285/70/17, Icon Stage III
    I just installed an OEM hitch receiver on my 2nd gen. The bolts that go vertically through the bumper stick out too far for the factory caps to go back on. Do tow package truck have different covers?

    These are the two circles on either side of the center hole in the step pad on the rear bumper

    yes, they are different. i installed an oem hitch as well, and have been meaning to get these covers...

    see part number for them here...item #51997B

    Nice pic. I'd say the 51997B is crowned to except the taller bolt and the 52592 is flush for a non-hitch application.

    I just received a genuine hitch from Toyota and the new caps were in with the hardware package.
    The keeper tabs are fragile...be careful snapping them in.

    I used a dremel and ground out the ring inside the cap, and they fit fine now. :cool:

    Thanks for the help. I'll order a set next week.

    Also, how far out do those bolts come down on the bottom? Mine have a good inch sticking out past the nut, something I haven't noticed on tacos with the tow package.
