No a/c in florida!!!!

    so i woke up this morning and went outside here in florida, turned on my truck, looked up at my compass/ outside temperature gauge where it said 101 degrees in my black tacoma, turned my a/c on high and NOTHING CAME OUT! i left it running a few minutes and opened up my hood and one of lines running to the passenger side firewall had a thick coat of ice on it so i just shut the whole unit off. WHAT DO I DO?? ITS HOT AS HELL HERE IN FL.! thnks for yalls help -chris

    sounds like the compressor froze up because it is super humid there probably. I have never heard of this happening in a car. I would just let it thaw and see if it works then. or drive it a little bit and then turn it on, it should thaw quickly.

    yea i let it thaw and it seems the compressor is kicking on because i can hear it idle up when i turn the a/c on but nothing comes out. is there i fuse for the blower motor possibly???

    There should be a fuse for it. So your getting no air at all coming out and you can here the compressor kicking in?

    35% tint windows, OEM black running boards, OEM black roof rack, Foglight mod, De-badged & Sockmonkey Horns decals added, Two ammo box storage units (removed), 110 volt & 12 volt outlets for back seat area, EGR Slimline inchannel visors (all windows), Fold-A-Cover G4, Tonneau, Bedmat.
    101 degrees That's COOL....:D It's only 113 here today...

    As for your a/c not working and it's freezing up.
    Did the cabin air even start to blow, any air? If not I'd look at the fan for in the cab air. If no air is moving across the coils the evap will freeze up and that CAN destroy a compressor. (First)
    If the air is flowing in side then you might be low on freon (gas). Have it checked and find where it leak out and fix it. (Second)
    Or it could be something else, have a tech check it out.

    True, it's not Arizona hot. When you start bumping 120's, it's hell, regardless of the humidity.

    yea the humidity is what kills the heat here. but i got it fixed. i took it to a guy and felt like an idiot because all he did was reach up under the passenger dash and hit it and it kicked on. i guess the wires for the blower motor were loose or its going out. im not to worried about it cause it hasnt messed up since.
