    Yea...idk, it could just be salt in salty areas and whatnot but I've read about 3-4 people in the last day :eek: that have frame rust issues on the 2nd gens!

    I have a couple of light surface rust spots on my '08. Nothing that I'd say is above or beyond what I'd expect.

    I'll be going over my frame with a rust cleaner and frame sealer anyways...but I don't think that any major issues are popping up.

    oh i can say that my exhaust pipe is rusting, but i put jetski in the river alot and my pipe gets in the water

    The surface rust is ok apparently (I am going to assume the frame rust buyback on 1st gens brought this up), but what is bad is the frame "rotting" from the inside out and defoliation...

    Might be a good idea for those of us near the ocean to make sure the bottom is well covered/protected though.

    Nah, a good rubderdized undercoating will do fine. Rhinoliner or Line-x ing the frame is very expensive, like well over $1K.

    I would not spray the rubberized undercoating on a frame. It will create a seal, but if it develops a perforation (hole), moisture can get trapped and it will then rot the frame from the inside out and sight unseen too.

    Consult a competent body shop for good advice on coating a frame.
