Tried this out and as far as I can tell it worked. I can still hear injectors but at least some of the noises are gone! Thanks Chris!

Blacked out emblems, Weathertech liners, LED interior, tag, and 3rd brake light, reverse light mod, rear TSB, rear diff. breather, added black factory running boards, OR tow hook, and rhino lined UWS low profile box.
Just knocked this out. Did it literally in the parking lot at Ace. I took the bolt in so I could get the washers that fit the best. I "think" it is quieter now. Either way, it cost $1 and about 5 minutes of my time. Well worth it.

Ive thought about that too. Seems the fix all depends on if the ticking is generated by the VSV, as opposed to other things. Some folks notice a difference, while others dont. Let us know how it turns out on your truck.

Ended up going to Taylors and bought (4) of these washers. Bought it 2 sizes too large the first time. Checked the bolt size after removing the 10mm, and it needs a washer to fit a 6mm.

Great work Chris! I need to try this out on my other tick i have to quiet down. :D

This seem to work for the valve ticking but in my case i always fill at Chevron with 91 now, i use to use 87 but once i change to 91 the valve ticking went away but still have the other tick that could be the some as Chris has pointed out here.

Seeing how mine has done this since the day I drove it off the lot I am going to have to do this mod. I even went as far as to refuse to take delivery of the truck until they pulled the vc's off and showed me no damage inside.

well just went out and unbolted it and pulled it to the side and no difference in sound. Got my handy dandy stethoscope out and I do believe I have injector rattle. So anyone have any experience with aftermarket injectors?

Thanks, Chris. This took about 50% of my tick away. I barely hear ticking when in the driver seat with the window open. Outside the truck is a different story. I suspect the remaining ticking is from injectors.

The noisy injectors are Toyotas way of letting you know the 4.0 is a HP beast and cannot be contained!
