Just did this and definitely helps. Doesn't completely make the tick go away, like OP said, but it definitely quites it down.
    Thanks!

Added one 1/4" washer (all I could find at home depot) and it seems to have made a large difference with the most annoying tick I heard during acceleration next to other cars or walls/buildings. When I installed the TRD exhaust, I noticed the ticking even more than when the truck was bone stock. I'll take a small improvement over nothing at all.

Took the bolt of with it running. No change in tick. Threw a couple rubber washers in there anyhow.

Just did this today after doing my differential fluid. One thing though, won't the washer that's on the other side of the body melt? It was scorching hot back there.

Well if yours hasn't melted it should be ok. The one on the bolt head side will definitely be ok, but I just thought if it melted the bolt won't be tight anymore.

Use a quality rubber gasket, and not something for a thermos, and it should be fine.

They were 50 cents a piece, they'd best be good quality lol. I'll check on it after my trip to work tomorrow. Thanks Chris.

I drove many Toyota in the past, but I had a Hyundai for the last 14 years (2001 Tiburon, very quiet engine), I thought the Tacoma V6 sounded noisy, that ticking is annoying, I'll try this soon, thanks
