Okay I've been searching the different threads on painting grills and I have some questions. I've got the paint adhesive promoter and color matched black sand pearl paint. The question I have is do I still have to sand the chrome grill with the paint adhesive or does that defeat the purpose? And if so what grit. I could have sworn that I saw a thread that had a step by step guide with pictures on how to remove the grill and the sanding and painting, but I can't find it. Any advice or help would be great.

I'm trying to go the cheap route. I've seen some painted grills on here that look great. I got the color matched paint at www.automotivetouchup.com.
    Hope this helps you out.

Phyny that is awesome! I was going to take my stuff in to a body shop to be painted, but I'm going to get the paint off ebay or from the link above instead and do it myself. I'm still considering buying the extra grill and headlights so I can get it done without using my stock stuff. I also still like the idea of painting on to the bare plastic better than the chrome too.

So BLHM, grill surround, skid plate, eyelids, and emblem will be BSP in no time!

So I am finally painting my grill. I just wanted to say thanks to 05PreRunner for all of the great info he had on his thread. I've taken some pictures so I will post them as soon as I get finished. Right now I've finished the Paint Adhesive and am doing the first coat of paint.
