'09 Access Cab platform for Animal Transport?

Since the access cab doesn't have alot of space and its uneven anyway with the middle console storage box, I was thinking of building some kind of platform for the dog to sit and lay down on. Does anyone have anything like this in their truck that can help me with a good design?

That's why I like my '08 - so the dogs have a flat place to lay down.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but have you tried a search? I think I remember seeing a platform for the access cab, but all I can find right now is one for the double cab.

What kind of dog do you have?

 

I saw the Crew Cab version. I believe that's alittle more easier to build. The Access Cab has a hump between the bench seats and the front arm-rest extends a couple inches in the back so to cut a piece of wood to fit around that would make it prone to breaking. The dog is a Boxer/Bully mix.

 

how about letting the dog ride in the bed?

 

That's the thing I dislike most about the '09. Great truck, but I miss the back seat layout of the '05 - '08. I actually looked on Ebay for the older rear seats and found some. Just didn't pull the trigger. I would be interested to see if anyone can come up with a nice design. Husky actually make a cargo liner that fit on top of the old style rear seats. Don't have a pic, but that would work well for dogs, if it could be made to fit.

 

My solution on a reg cab was to buy a fiberglass shell and put their kennels in the bed.
