    is it safe to go offroading with my all stock sr5 4x4 ? im not planning to do no rock climbing just some mud and trails.

    many of us will be offroading in the spring w/ prerunners....so i'd say u'd be ok...lol

    Those are good tires. You'll be cool. All the wheelin' I've ever done in my taco has been in stock form.

    Here's another tip for any newbie to 4wheeling. Keep your thumbs on the outside of the wheel. The reason for this is when offroad and the front end drops into a hole or hits an obsticle there is a better than average chance for the wheel to get jerked hard in one direction or the other, and that could lead to a broken thumb. Yes, I have actually seen this happen once.

    Hey, i'm new to tacomaworld!! i graduated from high school and my dad said he would help me buy a truck. the only thing i could afford was a 2004 sr5 tacoma 2wd(rear wheel differential lock). I was wondering if there was anything i could do to make it 4x4...what parts to get...or if yall had any better advice for me. please help out guys. I'm not even sure if this is the right topic but i saw off roading.

    *front drive shaft
    *front differential
    *new rear drive shaft
